Issue #13 · October 4–11, 2026
This week, Vigloo climbed 54 places into Korea’s iOS Top 10, while NetShort led that chart and ChatGPT topped Android free apps. Beyond the rankings, Off Beauty’s expansion into delivery apps shows another way to meet shoppers where they already are. For global teams entering Korea, discovery is the opening move—not evidence of retention or conversion.
Weekly scan
This Week in Three Signals
Vigloo moves from #61 to #7
The short-drama app rose 54 places in Korea’s iOS free-app chart over seven days. The cause of this weekly move is not verified. (1)
A new game enters both charts
Dokkaebi World entered the tracked Top 100 at Android #1 and iOS games #2. Kakao Games lists the title as in service; NEW alone is not evidence of a launch date. (2)
Beauty joins the delivery journey
October 7 reporting announced Off Beauty’s October 8 entry into Baemin’s shopping category. This is a distribution development, not a measured conversion lift. (3)

Ranking observation: Vigloo rose from #61 to #7 on iOS; TeraBox moved from #30 to #4. NetShort reached iOS #1 and Android #6, while ChatGPT moved from Android #4 to #1. Dokkaebi World was absent from both previous tracked Top 100 lists and now ranks Android games #1 and iOS games #2. NEW describes that tracking boundary, not automatically a product launch. (8)
Store rankings indicate chart position only. They are not confirmed downloads, revenue, active users, or market share.
Market developments
What Changed This Week
Vigloo’s visibility signal needs a separate retention test
What happened: Vigloo moved from #61 to #7 between October 4 and 11 in Korea’s iOS free-app snapshots. Its official Korean store listing describes short episodes, free episode sampling, and Korean-language support. These product features are context, not verified causes of the weekly rise. (9)
Why it matters in Korea: Sensor Tower’s July 2026 category report connects short-drama competition with localized creative and market-specific content. Its findings cover earlier global activity, with Korea among the markets discussed. They do not establish this week’s Vigloo acquisition channel, audience profile, or performance. (10)
Foreign-company takeaway: Test two Korean-language opening hooks against the same episode sample. Hold targeting and landing conditions steady; compare episode completion and next-episode starts before interpreting paid conversion. Treat this as a proposed experiment, not a proven explanation of the chart move.
Off Beauty expands the shelf into delivery apps
What happened: Korea Economic Daily reported 48 Off Beauty stores as of October 5 and an expansion into Baemin during October, following a June entry into Coupang Eats. October 7 reporting gave October 8 as the Baemin start date. These reports describe distribution, not purchase outcomes. (11)
Why it matters in Korea: Off Beauty’s official partner materials describe stock purchase and consignment options. Combined with the reported delivery expansion, that creates a useful channel question: how should a brand explain a discounted product when shoppers discover it inside an existing shopping app rather than its own storefront? (12)
Foreign-company takeaway: For a Korea commerce pilot, localize one product’s value, usage, and delivery conditions for the selected channel. Measure completed orders and cancellations alongside product-page clicks. Do not assume that adding a distribution channel automatically brings profitable new customers.

Watch whether Vigloo remains in next week’s tracked Top 10. In your own content tests, track next-episode starts separately from chart visibility; the official app’s free sampling is a testable journey, not proof of this week’s cause. (15)
